Apesar de andarmos a prepararmo-nos para esta viagem à bastante tempo é no momento em que metemos os pés no comboio e o sentimos a andar que começamos a sentir que vamos mesmo fazer isto!
Despite preparing ourselves for this journey for quite some time, it´s in the precise moment when we put our feet on the train that we start to feel that we're really going to do this.

Quase que iamos perdendo o comboio Porto-Coimbra: entre as despedidas familiares, beijinhos e abraços e uma fila enorme de trânsito no Porto foi preciso muita condução criativa pela parte do Filipe (irmão da Sónia).
We almost lost the train. Between family good-byes, kisses and hugs and lots of transit it was needed lots of creative driving by Sónia's brother Filipe.

Não houve realmente uma altura especifica em que decidimos fazer o caminho. Lembro-me que além da ansiedade e do gozo pela aventura de nos metermos nisto, havia também um genuíno receio por de facto conseguirmos andar apenas alguns dias - a Sónia tinha sido operada ao joelho à relativamente pouco tempo.
There wasn't really a specific time when we decided to do the Camino. I remember that besides the anxiety and the taste for adventure there was also a real concern for the fact that we would probably walk only for a few days due to the fact that Sónia was operated to the nee a short time ago.

Depois de algumas valentes subidas acabámos por ficar aqui. Optámos por fazer distâncias mais curtas nestes primeiros dias.

No meio do silêncio conseguíamos ouvir sons de cavalos e ovelhas por perto, à medida que atravessávamos a neblina.
In the silence we could ear some horses and sheeps close by has we crossed the fog.

É uma sensação incrível adormecer nestes espaços.
O burburinho próprio de um refúgio cheio de gente gradualmente começa a ser substituído por violentos roncares - o que realmente não nos afectava pois tínhamos tampões para os ouvidos!
It's and amazing sensation to go to sleep in the spaces.
All the proper sounds of a refuge full of people start to gradually fade into some violent snorring - it really didn't bother us because we had earplugs!

Uma das vantagens de se andar logo de manhã é que além de estar bastante fresco tem-se o sol pelas costas.
One of the advantages of walking straight in the morning is that beyond the fresh air one has the sun on the back.
